Gardenality.com's Answer · I've seen the most damage to King Sago Palms when there is an early warm up in spring followed by a late deep freeze. This can happen not only in Georgia but all the way down to Tampa Florida. So, yes, it's hardy in Zone 8a. But, like with other plants, can suffer from a late spring freeze. Brooks is right...if there's cold damage to some of the fronds just prune them off and the plant will usually send up new growth when temperatures have warmed up.)
