Winter hardy Annual plants that provide color in Zone 8b:

- Pansies
- Violas
- Flowering Cabbage or Kale
- Snapdragons
- Stock
- Silver Licorice
- Dusty Miller

*Annual plants will survive for one season only. Temperatures above 80 will kill most of the above listed plants.


Winter hardy evergreen Shrubs that provide winter color:

- Abelia... Best selections are: kaleidoscope, Confetti, Rose Creek, Mardi Gras
- Nandina... Best selections are: Firepower, Flirt, Obsession, Moon Bay, Blush Pink, Gulf Stream
- Winter Daphne
- Rosemary
- Berry producing Hollies
- Colorgaurd Yucca
- Edgeworthia
- Loropetalum
- Golshiki Osmanthus
- Camellia
- Soft Caress Mahonia
- Carolina Jessamine
