Zone 7. Upstate SC - I want to plant on a sloped hill that doesn’t need to be maintained much. Sunny.

Thinking about gardenia radicans in mass. Thought about a ground-cover but it backs up to neighbors property line and can’t creep over. No junipers or ivy.

Other ideas that are simple and low budget. Hill is only visible from a perpendicular sidewalk. It is between a fence and neighbor house. Want to cover it so don’t have to mow the slope.
