Snow Flurry Verbena - Prune Or Pull

Filed Under: Pruning · Keywords: Prune, Plants, Pruning, Grow, Seeds, Hi · 1212 Views
I have a beautiful bed of snow flurry verbena which come back in full force every spring.
At season's end I never know whether it's better to prune back or pull the old cold damaged plants. I've been pruning them to the ground, but the cut stems look dead.
Does next season's growth come from dropped seeds or the old plants or both? Should I prune the old plants or pull them.
Thanks
Shirleyd

Answer #1 · Matt Heidke's Answer · Do not pull them out. New growth will come from the base. Cut back it back and mulch heavily and and you will see a return every year. It does reseed also.)
