Maple Tree's Answer · Hi Barb-I know your frustration when it comes to weeding in the Asian jasmine. I really like this groundcover and have grown it throughout my landscapes and large hillside areas. Once your groundcover becomes more mature weeds will not be much of a problem as this jasmine will allow very few to grow. There are some over-the -top herbicides that work fairly well keeping most blade grass and broadleaf weeds out of ornamental groundcovers. I don't believe the Image herbicide can be used over some ground covers. I believe its label notes it can be used around ornamental woody shrubs and trees but I'm not sure if using it around your groundcover and flowers would be safe. Always read the product labels carefully. They will always note the plants that the product can be used safely on. One product I have used for years on my Asian jasmine and other groundcover is 'Amaze Grass and Weed Preventer'. This products label does note jasmine and other groundcovers as being tolerant of this herbicide. It has done a great job keeping most weeds out of these groundcovers. 'Fertilome Over The Top' is another product I have heard works well in established groundcovers. Again be sure to read the labels making sure the product can be used over your jasmine and follow the treatment instructions carefully. Treatment times will vary depending on the type of weed you are having the most trouble with. You can also check with your local quality nursery or garden center to find these and other products they may carry that can be used over the jasmine groundcover.
Hopefully this has helped. Please ask if you have any other questions.
