Answer #1 · Maple Tree's Answer · Hi Ted-Yes, most of the Maiden Grasses will grow in your location. I believe the central gulf coast would be in hardiness zone 9a or 9b. Most of the Maiden Grass (Miscanthus sinensis) are hardy in zones 5a to 9b. I believe you were looking at the Gold Bar Maiden Grass which should do fine. These grasses are not only drought resistant but salt tolerant also which makes them work well in coastal gardens.
