Answer #1 · Maple Tree's Answer · Hi Dora-I like using Neem Oil on all my annuals including my petunias. It will not only control pests but several diseases also. It is safe to use around our pets and will not kill our beneficial insects. Mix according to product instructions and repeat applications at seven to 14 day intervals as needed. Make sure when applying you completely wet both the upper and lower sides of the leaves. Products containing neem oil can easily be found at your local nursery or garden center.

Please ask if you have any other questions.

You're very welcome. You should be able to find neem oil at your local nursery. If you have a problem you can order it online at Gardener Direct (gardenerdirect.com).

Answer #2 · Gardenality.com's Answer · Neem oil works great. If it's slugs you can put some beer in jar lids and set them around the area. The slugs will be drawn to the beer and will die when they come into contact with it. If it's caterpillers or worms you can use BT spray or Dipel Dust.)

Thanks Brent, I did buy some Neem oil and will spray the petunias with that and see if that works. I am not sure who is eating my Petunias in small bites. I have looked but have not seen anything that moves on the leaves. I suspect some insect!

I heard beer works great at attracting snails and slugs. I enjoy a beer one or twice a week while working in the garden during the summer. I guess I will have to share a little with these critters.
