However, if you water an orchid this much, you'll surely kill it. Depending on the type of orchid, the general rule of thumb is to water them once every 5 to 12 days. Temperature and time of year are also important factors. During the summer months, more frequent watering is required. Best thing to do is let the soil almost dry out before watering again. This being said, if you know the type of orchid, you should be able to find more specific watering instructions.)
