Brent, is it still okay to spot spray wild onions with Ferti-lome Weed-Out w-Q on a bermuda lawn. I found a small bottle at a seeds store over the weekend. I also probably asked before, but is it still okay to spray the same yard with Weed-B-Gone (leftover from last year) for clover and dandelions now popping up? We are forecast for sunshine and low 50's until Friday when we are expecting rain and snow showers. I have spotty green grass popping up but the bermuda itself is not greening up yet. I have also been told that clover is good for a yard, your opinion? thanks.

Answer #1 · Gardenality.com's Answer · If the Bermuda isn't greening up yet you should still be safe to spray the Weed Out with Q lawn weed killer. When it starts greening up wait to spray any herbicides until you've mowed it a couple times. The Weed-B-Gone should still be okay for use on the dandelions and other broadleaf weeds.

The spotty green grass popping up could be poa annua or some other cool season grass. Try the Weed Out with Q on that and let me know if it kills it. If you can, take a picture of this grass and upload it to this question. Do so by using the Upload A Picture link to the right of your name above.

Regarding the clover...it's a winter "weed" that some people don't mind and others hate. It doesn't bother me that much...but then I don't have it taking over my yard in winter. Clover is often used as a cover crop in farming because it adds natural nitrogen back into the soil. Not sure how beneficial it would be in a lawn.
