Maple Tree · Gardenality Genius · Zone 10A · 30° to 35° F
The Thread-Leaf's finely dissected leaves give this plant a lacy, fern-like appearance; New foliage is reddish becoming bright green in summer and turning orange, bronze or purplish red in fall. Cream white flowers bloom in clusters at the ends of branches in the late spring and summer.

Maple Tree · Gardenality Genius · Zone 10A · 30° to 35° F · Comment About Pruning
This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and needs very little if any pruning other than removing any damaged or dead stems. This plant is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. Cut unwanted longer stems back close to ground level. Do not shear foliage as this will hurt its natural fern-like low appearance. Unwanted sucker growith from bottom of plant can also be cut off at ground level.

Maple Tree · Gardenality Genius · Zone 10A · 30° to 35° F · Comment About Feeding
Nandina will benefit from a yearly, light feeding of a Rhododendron or Evergreen type of fertilizer. Apply the fertilizer in late February or early June. Be sure to water-in the fertilizer thoroughly after application, or it is apt to burn the roots and do more damage then good.
